All good things must come to an end.

No- not our blog! But our first book selection, I Loved, I Lost, I Made Spaghetti. We all thoroughly enjoyed this book, and I think we can all agree every recipe we tried from it was aces, that we could relate to it in so many ways, and that we were all very sad when we turned the last page. Here’s hoping every book we “cook” from here on out has the same affect on us!

But it’s not quite over yet. This coming week  we’re having a dinner at Franny’s in Brooklyn and then meeting up (possibly) with Giulia Melucci herself for drinks as a sort of celebration of our first Cooking the Books effort going over so well. Also… we’ll all be making a “finale” meal and posting both it and our final thoughts both on the recipe and the book itself. Shortly after that and most likely sometime before Christmas, we’ll be starting our second book choice (Garlic & Sapphires by Ruth Reichl) and we’ll start cooking that book right away! And if you’re interested in finding more about or reading any of the books we cook, remember they’re all listed on the “Books” page, including where to purchase them.

Before I finish up this quick little post, I want to thank our visitors! Since we “opened” we’ve had a grand total of 1,566 visitors (and probably by the time I click ‘publish’, slightly more). I think I can speak for all of us when I say we have very much enjoyed sharing with you our experiences and cookery so far, and we hope you enjoyed reading it. There’s much more to come, so stay tuned.

  1. I know I’ll miss it! Look forward to meeting you next week. (Though we did meet at Lord & Taylor, didn’t we?)

We were just saying how we hope our next book choices live up to our first one…
